Understanding the full picture of one’s mental health is the first step toward effective support. Our Assessments service offers comprehensive evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. We conduct a variety of assessments to pinpoint challenges and illuminate strengths.
Searching for a private autism or ADHD assessment can feel overwhelming — especially with so many options and varying prices. At Dunamis Mental Health Services, we understand how important it is to find a service that feels right for you and your family. Our goal is to make this process clear, compassionate, and accessible from the very first step.
We offer an initial consultation (£150) lasting 45–60 minutes, providing an opportunity to ask questions, explore your concerns, and understand how we can best support you. This session is not part of the diagnostic process but helps you decide whether to proceed with an assessment. There is no obligation to continue — the most important thing is finding the right fit for your needs.
Our team of experienced clinicians — including psychologists, therapists, and neurodevelopmental specialists — deliver comprehensive, evidence-based assessments for children, young people, and adults. Each assessment draws on multiple sources of information, including direct observation, clinical interviews, developmental history, and where appropriate, input from family members, teachers, or caregivers.
At Dunamis, we recognise that families may have different hopes or expectations around diagnosis. Our role is to provide a thorough, balanced understanding of each individual — considering both strengths and challenges — and to offer clear guidance and support regardless of outcome.
For those who receive a diagnosis, we provide post-diagnostic support through our Dunamis Academy and therapy services, offering psychoeducation, emotional support, and tailored interventions to help individuals and families move forward with confidence and understanding.

A psychological or neurodevelopmental assessment is a structured yet compassionate process designed to help us understand how a person thinks, feels, learns, and behaves. At Dunamis, this might involve exploring emotional well-being, attention and concentration, learning differences, or social communication. The goal is not to label, but to clarify, empower, and guide—so that the right support can be put in place.
We begin with a friendly initial consultation, followed by evaluation sessions that may include conversations, observations, and age-appropriate tasks or questionnaires. Once complete, you’ll receive a feedback meeting and a clear written report, including recommendations and next steps. We ensure you understand every part of the process before moving forward. You can read more under our What to Expect section.
All assessments are carried out by qualified and experienced clinicians, such as clinical psychologists, neurodevelopmental specialists, or psychodynamic practitioners, under the clinical direction of Tom Tikare, who has a background in child and adolescent mental health, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and neurodevelopmental training. Every clinician in our team shares the same Dunamis value: care first, always.
This depends on the type of assessment.
